Overview: Just for the record, we are not sleeping on the Slept-On Fam. I was definitely feeling some of their material, especially the reggae/rap fusion of “From The Bottom,” which sounds like it belongs on a Sean Price record. There is even a track called “Roaches,” which far outdoes Bobby Jimmy’s song of the same name. SOF is led by producer Configa, who is nice with the sampling and above average with the hooks. Emcees Wargasms, C Gully and Arsenal do their best to keep the vocals in line with the mostly up-tempo beats. The album starts strong, but fails to keep the momentum throughout. There is plenty of inconsistency as well. When the verses are hot, the chorus misses and vice versa. Once of my pet peeves with this album is that many of the songs have intros of 1 minute plus before we get to any emceeing. My attention span can’t persevere. So Audio Crack isn’t exactly addicting, but you could do worse for getting a fix of quality hip hop.
Dopeness Percentage - Takes into account how many dope songs there are compared to tracks on the album. For example, if an album had 14 tracks and 5 of them were dope, you have a Dopeness of 36%.
