Letters to a Young Brother

Before he got his starring gig on CSI:NY, Hill Harper was that dude. You that dude where you didn’t know his name but you’ve seen him in so much stuff that when someone finally pointed him out you were like ‘Oh that dude!” The cat from ‘He Got Game’ decided to put some work in with the pen and scribed his newest opus, “Letters to A Young Brotha.” Although you’ll learn a lot about Hill, the purpose of the book is to serve as a motivational tool for young men, particularly those without role models in their own lives. Told through an exchange of various letters and emails between Hill and a phantom ‘Young Brotha’, Hill drops numerous jewels on the youth from the importance of education and perseverance to the struggles one has with sex and relationships. Although the book is aimed at a younger reader a few grown men could learn a thing or two from the book as well. So pick this one up, especially if you know someone in need of some guidance or encouragement, or cop it to support Hill’s charity as all of the proceeds from the book go towards award scholarships for young men and women who want to further their education but cannot afford to. Can’t front on that.
