Ice grills, fat gold chains, fresh tees and kicks define the personal style of Brooklyn native Fresh Daily, a rising lyricist who is taking an impressive multifaceted approach to Hip Hop. As an emcee, graphic designer, and children’s book illustrator, this artist’s persona and prowess make it hard to disagree with his self-proclaimed title of himself as “the epitome of Brooklyn boom bap”. Having been heavily influenced by the 1990s hip hop scene, Fresh got his start under the alias Ill Tarzan, a name he was forced to drop due to legal issues with the family of the Tarzan author, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Under the former name, the lyricist gained notoriety on the NY underground circuit with the release of his first two projects, Life Music, his debut album, and premier mixtape Treats. Presently, Fresh Daily is linked up with formidable indie record and graphic design label, Unlimited Vinyl Ink, who has helped with the recent release of a second mixtape, Mad Flavas (2006), and sophomore album, Fresh Daily is the Gorgeous in Crimes of Passion (2006). Regardless of what you stumble upon regarding this emcee, expect savvy metaphors and real versatility when delivering over a variety of production styles. Entertainment value is high, so don’t expect to get bored. His overall style and flare will definitely keep you coming back for more.
