Do we really need a Notorious B.I.G. movie?…Seriously?
Earlier this month Voletta Wallace announced that plans are in the works to bring the life of her son, Notorious B.I.G, to the big screen. Granted his story has some interesting aspects, some intrigue and screams controversy and conspiracy, but I can’t see this biopic being worth the price of admission. Part of it is because like the rest of the hip hop community I’m simply fully aware of the story details and already know how it ends. However, the other part is I just don’t want to see another cliché story about a guy who grew up poor, sold drugs, escaped the ghetto and then was shot numerous times and killed for his trouble.
Is there a real reason to perpetuate this stereotype? Sans the conspiracy is this story really worth re-telling? Dude hasn’t even been dead ten years and we already have two horrible posthumous collage albums and a movie in the works. This just seems to have the potential to be like one of those cheesy VH-1 movies about Hammer and Michael Jackson. And who are they gonna get to play Biggie? For some reason I see Keenan Thompson’s name coming up cuz he is the only fat black actor out there right now. Burn, Hollywood, burn….

Anthony Anderson is actually another fat black guy in hollywood that I forgot. Not that he could play Biggie either. You know what’s another good question. Who’s gonna play Pac? What about Puffy? This just seems like its 20 years too soon.

That whole comment was lightweight racist, “the only fat black actor!”, anyway yes we do need this so people can see that B.I.G. was more than just a glorified drug dealer, along with the fact that yes, he and Tupac were very high profile murders and law enforcement didn’t give a damn about solving those cases! and Oh yeah I liked the Jacksons movie, but your right about the hammer movie
