Overview: Is this a Native Tongue comeback? Well, close but not quite. This Black Sheep album is more like their sophomore effort, Non-Fiction, than its classic, A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing. That being said, it is much better than you would have anticipated after such a long hiatus. Dres is still as sharp as ever, combining his signature wit and swagger. The opening track “U Mean I Don’t” is an updated version of “U Mean I’m Not,” but this time, it’s the Southern rap phenomenon that is mocked. The track “Shorty” is not quite Strobelite Honeys 2006, but it is dope nonetheless. All in all, 8WM Novakane isn’t going to recapture the beauty of Black Sheep’s debut, but it’s worth more than a listen.
Dopeness Percentage - Takes into account how many dope songs there are compared to tracks on the album. For example, if an album had 14 tracks and 5 of them were dope, you have a Dopeness of 36%.
