Awesome…I Fuckin’ Shot That!

Beastie Boys fan or not, this DVD is worth watching. Basically, 50 fans were given a camcorder and told to record every minute of a Beastie Boys concert on October 9, 2004 at Madison Square Garden. What you get is many, many angles of a dope hip hop concert. The flick was directed by Nathanial Hörnblowér, with production credits from people like you and me. The show begins with scratching from DJ Mix Master Mike, as the amateur Hi-8 camera operators, record everything - from the audience, to the concession stands, to the men’s bathroom. Mike D, Adrock, and MCA run through their greatest hits, sporting old school track suits to pastel tuxes. Throughout the show, they are joined onstage by Keyboard Money Mark, percussionist Alfredo Ortiz, and Doug E. Fresh, who steals the show with a human beat-box over “Time To Get Ill.” This is by far, one of the dopest home movies you’ll see! Don’t worry about the shaky camera shots. The film is edited professionally and is easy to watch. You’ll just wish you were there, shakin’ your rump, holding a camera of your own.
